Men at war by @karen8755
A poem by karen8755 inspired by an RP solo by @AddictiveAramis in which he hopes to return from the war and not become a name on a carved monument.
Cry of the Soldier’s Wife
I need no monument carved in stone
You are carved into the walls of my heart
But I want no monument at all
I want you back in the living flesh
I want the man back who rode away
Not an empty shell graven in his image
I care not for kings and politicians
Let them fight their own battles
Why should the fruit of women’s wombs
Be sacrificed on the altar of base ambition
Why should the blood of the brightest and the best
Soak into the soil of a foreign field
Thrice cursed be the warmongers
Those Devil’s disciples, those harbingers of death
Tell the widow it is worth it, tell the fatherless child
That anything on this Earth could be worth
The cost in life and limb and broken hearts
Why should your earthly glory be bought
With the blood of God’s children
Why can’t your swords be beaten into ploughshares?
A poem inspired by a converation between @MusteteerAthos & @amandahawkins09 on how war can change a man

Bless my band of brothers
War can be a treacherous bind, that leaves those left to stand blind. We move forward at command, bearing our weapons like lovers, keeping our brothers at our sides, for the safety and prosperity of their majesty’s hides. And at the end of each day, our enemies souls are dragged to depths of hell, where demons wickedly dwell. Our muskets in hand as we lower them for rest, that brings another day and training to test. Bless my band of brothers O lord. Bring victory upon us as we make use of our muskets and swords. We fight country, we fight for their grace! Let not my essence fall out of place! At your will, let us return home, where our loved ones carve us not in stone! Let my brothers wake refreshed. Let them stand again for what we do best!

Letter from @ Addictive Aramis to his ladies by @wadewadec
For my lovelies with who I have neglected of late These words I write in hopes not to procreate But to you know you are in my thoughts still So let these words be my promise and not just lies of the quill Within my protective arms you shall be Within their warmth your safety with me Forever your sweet scent will entice my hunger Forever your beauty goes not asunder Know that I am watching wherever you may be Be it from a doorway or my soldiering jamb Know that my intentions are good, for I am but a man You are with me always, wherever I am

For the band of Brothers
I pray the Lord defend your life
The Devil shall not have you
Come home safe to lover and wife
Blood brothers brave and true
To Aramis – Fear not the ladies will always forgive you
Beautiful words & images – thank you Angel
